Exhaust system Bounce

Exhaust rattles – I have them on bumpy roads and am at a loss as to how the stock donut hanger system would ever prevent mufflers and piping of that mass from bouncing up and down on bumpy roads –
Is this a common situation on C4 (I assume 365GT 2+2 as well), am I “nit picking”?
Did I screw up and hang the system improperly? Is there a “pre-load” technique that reduces the bounce?
Suggestions/help appreciated
