You are correct I believe those floor mats came in a lot of the early cars especially the convertibles. As a matter of fact the convertibles typically used a lot of vinyl and rubber on the interiors because they were intended to get wet so wool carpet and leather were not the best materials for that. I did see one of the series I cabs at Cavallino this year with the ribbed rubbed floor mats so I guess some people are paying attention. We did find a few remnants of the mats in the series II cab I am doing so we will try and recreate them but as you say the embossed label will be complicated to replicate.

thank you very much Zac,
First time I see this level of detailing.
Not alone by rain they are great.
I used to smoke sigars................
Was a subject actually never take attention too
Those great restauration Shop loved to look away- I think- about this problem.
I use them in all my classic cars.
to prevent burning holes...........

Not so much to see on this one.
Except the very short leather cover over the driveshaft tunnel.
funcion?
production car cover this tunnel compleet.
The S1 gearbox cover have an little "door"
to reach the pedal clearance adjustment idler this is not possible on S2.
S2 cover has an opening to reach the overdrive selenoid of the overdrive.

Even when it seams this is not a REAL cracker picture,
I am pretty sure this car can be found in the yearbook 1958.
the Tudor mirror is placed stangly high to the roof.
the same can be found in the pics below
AND this is one of the rear one single distributor PF-coupe cars.
The historians may correct.

Still the question about 7 inchs Marchals is open.
Are the 7 inch lightunits standard on all other other US-cars in those days?
I owned an export car with all red tail lights and those extrachrome rings.
the picture says on the rally plaques 1984 startnr 50.
but I doubt this is correct it must be around 1990- 93
take in Paris before the - La Grande Arche- the new Arc de Triumphe- .
Any idea about the SWB?
licence nr AC- l- 250 AC stands fore Aachen .

Drove that car on belgium registration due to licence problems in Germany.

those typos are terrible.
licenceplate on SWB says AC L- 250 NOT an I.
Lamps are written as Triberti with an r.
I should better contol before press the butten on TY.
red PF # 1913GT

SWB is a fake by Hugenholtz using Lusso chassis 5057 restamped into 2687. Owner at that time might have been Theo Melcher.
