Tom, this is how POOR it looks today.
Foto found and provided by Kare P.

Even reproduction prints like these from Stieglitz or Lartigue would give any garage some class!

I have the impression Kare is taking over this thread step by step.
In the background.
Have nothing agains it.
here a period magazine publication around 1956/1957 by Kare.
but with much older chic women.

"
This is 0597GT - I think - being displayed in the same
dealership.

F- dealer:
show the car at Crepaldi's in Milano

Sold new to Eugenio Lubich in Venezia."

It is rather amazing that the Fuller Brush Co would produce
an entire issue devoted to Phil Hill of which the picture
above is on the back cover. The article was written by
Denise McClugggage who had a comfy relationship
with Hill as can be seen in the picture on the inside
back cover. Denise is still pretty active and lives
about a mile from me.

Hi Cornelis, these are great reference photos. Thank you. I see where some cars had black door caps. I Also noticed an interesting feature in where the fuel filler door also works as a cap to the tank.

John, the fact that the door caps were painted black had a reason in the 50th.
this is called "passiv security" sound comical now.
But this was a line of thoughts.
The driver should be FULL focused on what he is doing.
and not be distracted by refflection and other things
The direction switch Ceam on the steering columm MUST but be put back to neutral also concirning this
principle but was actuelly introduced on PF-COUPE ,
Maybe only practiced on euroeen cars.
This" passiv security" can be read in several carmagazines of those days.

P.S.new pictures later

the inside of the bootlid looked very rough inside
is not painted in car paint
this possible also a polyester lid.
in the late 50th plastic was introduced in car production.
PF did make only a try out on some cars i think
The polyester structure shines very fast through the paint outside after several days in the sun.
despite 5 of more paint layers. it comes back every time!
people with a plastic lid lknows this out of expierance.
My DS cabrio Chapron 1964 has the same problems.
the interior trunk light cannot be found in this pic ( hella)
the licence numberlight was chanche during production in two Carello's

B-pilar show marchal little lamps for indication or parking; Red/white

The first PF got these nice logo headlights with Marchal logo
The europeen cars got the Marchal 7,25 inch Equilux TP 485.
the exportmodel how ever got the Marchal 7 inch Equilux 107 model with extra chrome ring to fill the gap.
Don't know why.
Somebody?

Mixup some Marchalnumbers
check again in my stock
The 7,25 inch was replaced by the later 109 without logo
the export model with chrome extra ring is called 125 ......... 7 inch with logo
Sorry for the confusion

Same tail light units that we sell for Alfa Giuliettas. They have been reproduced. There are two slightly different styles, one with a 'narrow' slot for the light to emit and one with a wider slot. They were fitted to both the Pininfarina bodied Spiders as well as the Bertone bodied cars.

Ferrari and "passive safety". That's a joke. They could start by labeling their switches. Now that would go a long way for safety.

Okay, see if anyone (well, PF Coupe lover) can point out the oddity in Conelis' Post 419.
