My CA Spyder came with Type 130 10mm lift cams. Some 275
GTB/4 cars came with 10mm P7 cams. (10mm lift 2cam motor cams are called Type 130, 10mm lift 4cam motor cams are P7s, and 9.3mm (symmetric and asymmetric) 4cam motor cams are called P6.) All were available from the factory. I happen to own to 2 cars with the 10mm Type 130 and another with the P7 cams from the factory. The difference in the asymmetric (early) and symmetric (late) P6 cams are that the early cams have milder exhaust. The symmetric ones the same 9.3mm intake and exhaust.

I am reading your note, waiting to get to the end of it when you say ...and the cams made the car perform.......shill288 wrote:My CA Spyder came with Type 130 10mm lift cams. Some 275

In otherwords, if we could be hotting up our engines with these, would our facial muscles get even more of a workout? Thanks for posting. Yale

Yes, high compression and 10mm lift cams make the car go like a raped ape. But, at a cost. I would recommend you try a Type 130 cam car first. They're narly to drive around on the street. If it were me, I would go with high compression pistons and a little more aggresive cam on a two cam motor, say no more than 9.3mm lift. Not all the way to 10mm. 4cams are a different deal. You can do all sorts of things with moving lobe centers, etc. to make it drivable on the street.
If you want to go crazy, you have ceramic liners, Nickel Aluminide valves (ligther and stronger than Ti valves), etc., etc. You can get 400HP out of a 250 2cam if you want. The cheater motors used in vintage racing do. Not something you wnat for the street though.
