Well I'm happy to announce I won 1st Place for the Ferrari Class at the Scarsdale Show! There were a bunch of nice Ferraris, and many of them were friends, but I am proud of the result especially when you hear of the story of how I almost didn't make it to the show at all, and how I got home. The full report will be up soon!

Tom, you should have read my 2004 Monterey trip return:
http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/M ... ipHome.htm
Identical symptoms and results, even down to the burning of gas in the right exhaust.
I bet you will find that the RH points are almost fully closed and you just burned up 2 coils from overheating caused by being energized almost the whole time.
Yale, I do have a picture of the 330 being loaded on a flatbed and the spare coil duct taped in place!

I thought about pictures of the car on the flatbed, but I wanted to keep what little dignity my 330 America had, especially after winning me 1st place! You're slipping Tom. we are missing photos of the two mis-matched coils and your car going up on the flat bed. Yale
Francois may have a spare set of Bosch coils.Tom, if you are going to drive it, put in Bosch blues.
I'll have to check my point gap, but I took today off from the car. I needed a break!I bet you will find that the RH points are almost fully closed and you just burned up 2 coils from overheating caused by being energized almost the whole time.
Thanks everyone for your congratulations, and look forward to more of this journey with my Ferrari!

Hi Art,Are the wheels still clean?
The rain driving down covered them with a layer of scum, but polished right off with a soft cloth. Since I spent to much time polishing each wheel, the dirt didn't have much of a surface to grab onto.
BTW, after reading Kerry's story three years ago, I am lucky to say my Mustang coil dropped right into the Marelli coil bracket, so I didn't have to use any duct-tape.

Congrats
Tom,
Just wanted to say congrats, and your car looks sooooo much better with the grill installed. The grill itself was a clever project.
Also regarding the coil failing on one side and thus leaving the engine running on 6 ... could this also be a potential cause for hydraulic'ing an engine, ie. if one attempted an Italian tuneup with the engine in this state a lot of unburnt fuel will have to be compressed ???
It sure would not do the cylinder bores any good ... as petrol is abrassive, and would wash all the oil away.
Again congrats for finishing a restoration!!!! :D

I don't believe there is enough fuel vapor to hydrolock the motor while it is running, but washing the oil from the cylinder walls is definitely a concern. I made the right choice in getting the car towed at the end of the day. I'll have to check to see how much fuel got in the sump to see if I should change the oil again.Tom,
