fuel pumps
hi there!
the mechanical fuel pump of my 3619 (the one in front of the engine) needs to be replaced.
does anybody know where to get one of these (new, refurbished, repro)?
and how about the electric pump: who restores these devices?
tks a lot!

Hi Gerry,
You may only neeed a new membrane for the electric pump. Have you tried bench testing the pump to see if the rod moves up and down? The electric pumps are rebuilt by Francois, the mechanic I work for. He has three right now that he's rebuilding.
Have you asked the usual suspects on my suppliers list for mechanical pump? Rutlands, Partsource, GT parts, etc.?
Tom

Gerry, I believe the pump body is made of some pot metal material and may not like to be welded.gerry wrote:well..., due to circumstances not entirely explainable, the pump broke, literally, in the shop where my car is being serviced.
so I must weld the (two) parts together again, but I'm not sure if this welding will resist the pressure.

Gerry,
I've got an extra 365 GT 2+2 Fispa mechanical fuel pump that needs a new diaphragm. The body is good, I'm not sure about the size of the fuel inlet and outlet fittings. If you want it, it's yours for the cost of shipping. Email me if you are interested. thomas.kizer@sympatico.ca

So many sidewalk cafés - so little time left.

Gerry,
I'm sorry for the major wild goose chase. As I mentioned in my last email, I found that my pump won't fit your engine. SORRY! Maybe someone here can help out a fellow FERRARISTI with a spare pump body. Tom Shaughnessy undoubtedly has one in some parts bin but it won't be as free as the one I offered. It will, however, probably fit, unlike mine.
Good luck.
