Ferrari 250 SWB Tour Auto Special Stage

Post by Rudy van Daalen Wetters »

Ok, since Kerry took us all the way to the Czech Republic to see a stationary 330 GT, it's time to take a little ride in a SWB.

Go to You Tube and search for "Ferrari 250 SWB Tour Auto Special Stage".
Fasten your seatbelt and get a move on.

Rudy,

Those videos have been around but they are second only to rendezvos.

Art,

As discussed on an earlier thread, the rendevous video is not all that it is supposed to be. I have seen other references, outside the internet, that allude to the fact that a Mercedes Benz was used as the film car with the camera mounted on the nose. Also, having spent some time in Paris, I drove the exact route as in the video and after all the smoke clears, it just does not pencil out. Still makes for a fun movie though.

I have to give the driver credit for really pushing that SWB.

This is the best one, no rear view mirror in the way.

Rudy,

I know Rendezvous isn't completely what it is supposed to be but I'm talking about entertainment value. The production is better than the in - car view.

Art,

I have to agree that, from an entertainment perspective, it has to be one of my all time favorites. I must have seen it over 50 times. The louder you play it, the better. Great concept too.

You Tube has a whole SWB and GTO series. Check this out. Not as much tuning detail and we might like, but the subject and a run down the road makes up for it.
