Rebuild Starter or Fit Modern One?
So you have all heard my new starter. When I got this car I knew I would be driving often. That's why I got it. Two things that worried me and indeed stranded me once. The alternator could not keep up with load with the light on and the draw of the starter. I changed out the alternator for a new AC Delso unit three years ago. I can get a replacement anywhere anytime. Charging solved.
I kept the starter for awile but always sweated bullets that she would turn fast enough AND have enough spark to fire. When the bendix started to go (would not catch when hot) I went to the new starter. I kept the old one to get re-built and have but the new one is very efficient and now she starts with no worries. Very happy I went this way. Again I drive alot and long distances so peace of mind was essential.

Modern Starter
I just spent three days driving the Lusso with the new starter. It works great!
Martin was a great guy to deal with and he now has the pattern for the 168 motor. The old starter weighed 23lbs, the new one is 10lbs.
Cheers,
Mark
