Attendees at Spring Party

Post by whturner »

How many of you are planning to attend the spring party, and where would you stay, if not close enough for a day trip?

Cheers

Hi Warren,

I'm coming too, driving down Saturday with John Tirrell and staying the night at one of the hotels.

I am planning to come BUT at this moment 6097 is where she lay from her last sojourn to the Watkins Glen FCA event. As continuing readers of this board will recall during the cars last appearance, on the way home, all my electrics went south. The car treated me well by making it to the mechanic without me calling AAA. Now as I noted that I suspected something was up while driving around the Glen as my annimeter was acting strangely, sure enough it foretold the demise of my alternator.

I concurrently had also been noticing an odd noise from the overdrive and so asked Bryan, the mechanic, to send it out to get rebuilt to those guys Tom found who specialize in overdrives. Well, as it turned out the overdrive was a mess and the overdrive experts broke one of the pieces of it that they were trying to machine. Hence a new unobtanium part had to be found for this English overdrive unit in an Italian car in Italy. Supposedly it has been located BUT the car is still in the air. Stay tuned.

Best,

Yale

Oh and I wanted to add that I have not booked a hotel for Saturday night as I was waiting to see if there was consensus on where folks were going to stay? Yale

Hi Yale:

Sorry to hear of your tribulations - but will be glad to see you. Judy and I are not booked yet, (we will be there the night before), otherwise we are into getting up before the rooster crows. Kind of waiting to see where others are staying.

Cheers

well, the car itself is spread over two counties in Virginia. and the motor/transaxle is going together pretty fast now (see the More Mondial thread), so I might not have many portable pieces to bring by May 3 .. .

I'll see what I can do.

If anyone needs a place to stay I have a room with a separate bath. I will be going and live about an hour from the shop. first come first serve.
