Rosso Chiaro Ferrari appears to be what Is often thought to be Italian racing red. It is a very clear, bright red, and the colàr many owners would like to match when repainting earlier sports Ferraris. We are advised by the color experts at GM Styling that no American manufacturer of paints puts out such a clear red, as it is thought to be unstable by our firms. We attempted o find the closest color to approximate this Rosso Chiaro Ferrari, and from hose available at GM, the best was 1966 Corvette Red. Admittedly, this color lacks the brilliance of the Ferrari red, but we could do no better.

Thanks. I just ran it through OCR from a scan and didn't take the time to check for any errors introduced. It's interesing that the same color number for Rosso chiaro wa still in use for my 308, built in 1978.

Hi Yale, The color list for Pininfarina bodied cars is not the same, although some of the color names may be similar. Pininfarina used a different line of paints in the mid-1960's, usually "Italver" codes. The color name "bleu scuro" for example would likely be two different colors in the two lines. Sorry, I've never had an opportunity to see actual Pininfarina/Italver color chips (doesn't mean they are not out there somewhere). Chris

Kerry - I cannot vouch for the other colors or lists, but my Pininfarina color certificate agrees with your latest list. According to them, my GTE was Bianco 20414 A It.

By the way Yale, congratulations on mastering the photo insert! I had a good time viewing your photographs. However, in the future, if you limit the width of your shots to 500 pixels, it will make it easier for the rest of us to view.

Warren - Don't you know that it is the middle of the night wherever you are? At least Rudy and I are in the same time zone!

As long as you are up anyway, tell me how to remove the suspension on my GTE under my Suspension Removal post. I know you know how to do it and I cannot get it to budge.

And no more comments about shoes. I have shoes. I just left them at Tom Y's; an occurrence that will not happen again. Though it is nice to know that if it does, another person with big feet will be there to bail me out :D

Tom:

Suspension removal?
Don't know, mine was rebuilt while the car was in the shop doing the other things.
Of course, there is driving through a Pennsylvania pothole at speed. Haven't done that yet.
