Speaker options
Speaker options
My 67 330 GT 2+2 had a stereo and speakers when I bought it. The speakers are pretty ugly - squared off with paint scratched. Any recs on what to replace them with? They are mounted on the sides by the back seats. Thanks.

The series 2 330 GTs were designed to have speakers mounted under the package shelf.

Well, I'm stuck with holes on the sides below the quarter windows by each back seat where the old speakers were, so before I try and repair those, I think I'd like to just keep some speakers in there. Any thoughts as to what I should use?
thanks,
David

Re: Speaker options
I am assuming that you have speaker boxes and also speakers as two separate things. Maybe they came together in 1966 but they don't now.zdr wrote:My 67 330 GT 2+2 had a stereo and speakers when I bought it. The speakers are pretty ugly - squared off with paint scratched. Hopefully pictured above are some cases available from:

They also have speakers but the fact is most any cheaper car stereo speaker that does not need a lot of power should be fine given the type of radios these cars had, (which actually were a lot better then later car radios, just limited).

For GTEs, and probably 330s, there's an aluminum trim strip that is covered with headliner material that finishes off the area between the rear windshield and package tray.I am trying to figure out what it in the gap/space between your leather shelf and the rear window. Is it a strip covered in black leather, some defroster piece or is it something else? My car appears to be missing whatever should be in that space and it therefore looks unfinished.

Glued on black leatherette, same material as used on the dash, etc. Tucked under the rubber window seal and under the shelf and side panels.h00kem wrote:I am trying to figure out what it in the gap/space between your leather shelf and the rear window.
