More Mondial please
Okay...I have read this thread as well as the one on FChat from start to finish at least a dozen times each over the last several weeks and I just can't get over what heart felt percervering story about a man and his Ferrari. And then metamorphasis's to a family and their Ferrari. I wasn't going to post anything and just lurk as it relates to this wonderful story. But I couldn't help myself. I'm new to the F-car arena and it humbles me to read such an accomplishment. I mean to drag this car, once worth nothing all over the planet to one day restore her is amazing. And one of our lifer armed forces servicemen on a serviceman's salary performing this restoration with a hands on approach is even more amazing. Is there really a better ferrari story our there?

It's funny that you said that. When I was at Pebble Beach in August I watched a pre-war car that was being judged. The owner was clearly stressed with the start up procedure, and it looked like the person who usually assists in starting this car was not present. As the owner pulled out a squeeze bottle of gasoline, and started squirting it in various locations inside the engine, I began to step back. On the third attempt to hand crank the engine, and squirting more gasoline, I walked away, but kept an ear open for screams and the commotion of rolling someone on the lawn to put out the fire. Luckily, none of that happened, but I don't know if the owner ever got that car started.

Dear Rudy,
Fortunately I found the right ones of the five.
For those who are still interested, there is a nice write up at:

Dear Yangsters,
The thread on exhaust sounds prompts me to post this URL :
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 7986606346
Obviously, with a cold motor you will not hear it sing at high revs, but in any event the Lampredi four has a nice ugly growl in comparison with the higher tones of its V12 brethren.
Best regards,
Robert

Dear Yangsters,
This is a screen shot with a slight photoshop effect from a video taken by Bryan on the Tour, and here is what it looks like in back and white.
I'll see later how hi the res really is.
