WANTED- Looking to buy a 250GTE or 330GT any leads?

Post by wwwboard »

I'm looking for a decent 250GTE or 330GT.  I am not interested in any cars with rust or previous rust repair.  I would really like to find a good "honest" old car.  Naturally in my perfect world the car would be complete with books, records, toolkit, jack and original radio.  I live in Massachusetts but would consider any cars anywhere.  I am a private party looking to own my first v12 Ferrari.  My present Ferrari is a 1986 328GTS with 9500. miles.  My budget for the v12 is around $50k   I would also consider trading out of the 328 for a "over the top" V12  Thanks!  I can be reached at - (781)383-1719(H)  (617)852-6413 (cell) or (800) 762-7702 (W) 9-5 EST &nbsp

Hi Andrew,

Finding an "honest old car" without any rust or previous rust repair may keep you looking for a long time! Many of these 2+2s were used as regular cars by their first owners, and like any car built in the sixties, rusted! As I posted in an earlier message, Pininfarina made a double skinnned floorpan on these cars, trapping water in the fiberglass sandwich, so floorspans tended to rust quickly. I've seen very few GTEs with original floorpans.

Would you be interested in a 4-headlight car?

I talked to a guy named Michael Campanelli in Florida in Feb. of this year. He had a 2-headlight 330 with a good ownership history and judging from the photos he emailed me, in very good unrestored condition. I didn't have the $, so didn't pursue further, though if I had it would have been worth going to Florida to look at. His asking price was $45k, negotiable. I don't know if he sold the car or not. His tel. is 352-368-1990. I originally saw ad in online Ferrari Market Letter. Good luck-I'm keeping my eye open for a 330 as well.

Yes I would be interested in a 4-headlight 330gt.  I would actually love to find a Interim car.

I don't know if you found one, but Ferrari of Seattle has a gorgeous silver 250GTE. Look at http://www.ferrariofseattle.com/.

I was walking around Seattle the other evening, and saw it in the window. They were closed, so I couldn't see it up close, but it looked great.
