Anyway, no point in posting these, except that we're all overgrown children here and things like these make us happy. The shafts before and after chromium plating. The short guys were pretty tired. I might still get new ones from Piet Roelofs. But the repairs are plenty good actually.

Very nice John- Those look very useable now. Is that Industrial or show Chrome? ... looks too nice to be Industrial.

They are hard chrome. The company is called Babbitt Bearings in San Jose and specializes in restoring bearing surfaces.

Hi John, did the shop replate them to a specific dimension or just a standard thickness of plating? Were the threads masked or did you have to chase them? Mike

The pin diameter is 20mm. The shop does not consider augmenting the shaft any more than 0.015" to be practical. They guarantee an accuracy within a certain degree, agreed upon between the shop and the client. Obviously, my job isn't hat critical comapred to other work the shop might take on. There is always the adjustment within the bushings.
Yes, they also chased the threads and cleaned out the jammed cotter pins. I believe the "masking" is done by some sort of waxy substance.
Piet Roelofs sells these at about the same cost as replating.
