Unlevel

Post by zdr »

I noticed my 330 is not sitting level. There is about an inch difference from one side to the other, with driver's side 1 inch lower at wheel wells than passenger side. My first thought is an unevenly worn spring. Common culprits to consider?

Thanks,
David

I'm not sure that I would suggest that to her.

1. Check tire inflation all around.
2. Measure at the high point of each wheel arch.
3. Decide if it is both front and rear or just one corner.
4. If one corner, remove and swap springs side to side (easier done in the front than the rear! Or take them to a spring place (check with local RV dealer to see who they use) and have them compare them.
5. If one side is down, both front and rear, same solution, but twice the work.
6. Slight possibility of a bad shock not extending properly. Bouncing each corner and seeing how they react compared one to the other should eliminate this.
7. Bent suspension/chassis?

Sounds like springs to me. My Dads 365gt2+2 we found was being held up by the load levelers once we removed them the car nearly bottomed out. This is the second time the rear springs have been replaced.
Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks guys. The shocks seem ok, so yes, prob the springs. I'll check them out.
