I did stopped by (as a "first timer" for this gathering) and was quite surprised of the amount of cars attending, especially French. Although, the T40A was very nice, but as some one who prefers "driver" quality cars, I was admittedly bit more intrigued by this certain 225S and especially it's wonderful "real driver" (=used) appearance.
And then there was this SM, with very nicely finished interior, that had come (driven ?) all the way from Switzerland (?).
I'll definitely check this in to my calendar next year.

Mrs. van Daalen Wetters' Bugatti is a show stopper at any event. The award was well deserved. And Rudy, I missed you at the show, so don't know which car you brought. I would have voted for it though!

Due to the apre' Halloween mop-up and the traffic from the brush fire in the park, I did not get there until 12:30 or so. By that time, all the vintage Ferrari guys had left. Early risers, that bunch...

I enjoyed seeing getting to know the Fiat Dino's better. Very fun cars. The Alpha group had a nice turnout as did Pugeot. All in all a fun event, but will have to get there earlier next year.

Tom S - do you know anything about that Testarossa Go Cart that was there? The owner told me that 20 were made by an Italian company in 2002 for FAO Schwartz and sold originally for $32,000! However, my dad picked one up in 1996 (and it was used then) for $200. This was the only other one I have seen. Briggs and Stratton engine, two forward gears and one reverse, coil over suspension, leather interior, the works. Fun car for the grandchildren; just good we never knew what it was worth!

It was a great show and lots of fun. Despite my best disguise, Tom S. spotted me
and blew my cover. Under a load of Lancia parts, I discovered and purchased
a filthy FISPA fuel pump complete with banjo bolts, just waiting to be rebuilt, as
a GTE spare for $40.00. I did not realize Tom Wilson was there until Tom S.
asked me of his whereabouts. Next year, we should plan a meeting area.
The car I brought to the show was my 1960 Fiat 500 Nuovo Sport. It was my
very first car, with a two cylinder air cooled 500cc motor that puts out 22 HP.
That car handles like a formula one racer, Michael Shumacher has three of
them, they are so fun to drive. My father paid $207.00 for the car in 1972
and said, "here's your car, give me a check for $107.00". I put over 50,000
miles on it and learned how to work on cars because of that Fiat. Recently
it underwent a complete restoration which turned out incredibly well. It is
a great feeling still having my very first car in my garage!

I was elated that my Mother won the "Best French Car" award, it is her
sixth trophy with that car. The real pleasure to me is that she drove the
car by herself from Burbank to the show and back home, not an easy feat
for anyone.

Hey Rudy! Haven't heard from you in a while. Sorry I missed you at the park; got there too late for most folks. It was fairly quiet in the afternoon, but I got a chance to sit down and talk to some of the more modern Ferrari guys. Got a decent pastrami sandwich as well.

So, Tom S was keeping track of me and you got a fuel pump for $40. I better go check my garage!

I'm new here, so please go easy on me. I thought I'd start by posting some pictures from Sunday's show, the Best of France & Italy.

I'm uncertain as to where the cutoff is for vintage Ferraris (as opposed to classic, and then contemporary), so I'll keep these images limited to cars that are
definitely vintage.

Anyone care to take a wild guess on who owns that delightful
225S shown on the previous posting of photos?
I spoke with the son of the previous owner in Monterey,
it had been in the family for many, many years.

Nope, not David. Surely there must be others that
would know who the owner of this car is.

Tom's memory isn't quite what it used to be.
He mentioned David, and David is not the new
owner. With all these members, surely
someone would be in the know?

Is that 168ed? I heard it went to a buyer in Oceanside, CA. Apparently he had an empty space in his garage after one of his cars went to Switzerland...

Beautiful car. Wish I had been there early enough to see it.

Wow Yale, you are not usually known for being obscure or holding back, but that one was pretty good! Took me a while...
