Stainless exhaust on vintage V12
Stainless exhaust on vintage V12
I am looking at the options for replacing the mid and rear sections of my 275gtb/2 exhaust. As much as I would like to stay with the traditional Ansa system, Timevalve makes a stainless system which uses the same pattern and can be painted black.I like the fact that the stainless steel will not rot out but I am concerned about point deductions should the car ever enter a concours. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Hi Matt,
The Timevalve exhaust is very similar to the Ansa system, but the sound will probably be different. When I've heard a 330 GT 2+2 exhaust made by Timevalve, the system seemed quieter than the Ansa systems I've heard on similar cars. Of course, sound is a subjective matter, so your perception may vary! I also know that some of the Ansa systems have resonator chambers while the Timevalve systems seem to eliminate these parts.
Painted black, and adorned with the right stickers, how many points would you loose?
