Hi Tom: In regards to the shifter boot, i think i have seen a rubber boot under the leather which would act to proctect tne leather from a oil, grease and road grime. Is that correct? Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes, there is a rubber boot that sits below the leather boot. I tried a couple types before finding one that worked well, but it's been years since I did it so I don't remember which one I ended up using. I think I tried one from a Jeep? Look at some rubber reproduction catalogs and I'm sure you'll find something that will work.

Good luck!
