So... Why hasn't s/n 5271 at Heritage Clasics sold yet?
Hello all,
I just received my copy of the Ferrari Market Letter and noticed that the Series I 330 2+2 at Heritage Classics still hasn't sold.
I was just curious. Is this because the information on the car (as collected on Kerry Chesbro's excellent 330 Gt registry) suggests that it was rebodied as a GTO, and it's now a mystery car?
Is the car not correct? Is the price simply too high?
I know that a number of posts on this car have been here before. Now that it's been many months, I was just curious if anyone had any thoughts on why Heritage Clasics still has it unsold in inventory.
Here's Heritage Clasics's listing:

By the way, I'm not in the market, just curious. (I'm too in love with my own 330!)

Matt,
I was wondering the same thing about that car at Heritage. It seems to be waiting for the right buyer. I don't mind the four headlamp cars, it's a Ferrari through and through. I happen to have purchased my own 250 GTE from Heritage in December 2002 and am very pleased with the car.
At one time I was considering s/n 5271 but am focusing on the GTE at the moment.

I just reviewed 5721 on my registry. I can't see any reference to the car being a rebody. I can tell you from personal inspection last summer that the engine does not have a serial number stamped on it. There is an internal motor number, but no SN. So either the block was a replacement (un-numbered) or a different engine has been installed and the SN stamping was removed.
Regards, Kerry

4003GT
I think this silver/black car was parted out in USA in 1980's. Engine and drivetrain was then installed in 250 GT/E 4333GT.
4003GT then turns up in UK as a GTO-replica. Unclear which parts were used (if any, besides papers). Do not know which engine is in.
Offered for sale by Paul Baber between 01/98-05/98: red/tan, registered "AFE 559A", three front fender vents. Claimed to be a re-creation by Favre. Easy to recognize by side windows, which are too low (side window is supposed to drop an inch or so from upper corner of wind screen, but on this car the difference is 2 or maybe 3 inches!). I have a bad photo.
If it was built by Favre, it must be an early conversion as Favres usually look very nice.
Best wishes, Kare
