If you wanted to replace the shocks - or rebuild the shocks....
What would you replace them with or where would you go to get them rebuilt and restored?
Does Koni still do them and is there turnaround time reasonable??

Re: GTC Shocks
Koni definitely still does factory rebuilds on their shocks and the gentleman you need to speak with at Koni is Mason (ext 324) at 859-586-4100. I just got my 250 GTE shocks done early this spring in a 6 week turnaround, but this lead time grows in the late spring to early summer. The quote was $140/shock plus an additional $60-$80 for a complete new bushing set. The shocks came back on time, on budget, fully rebuilt and correctly painted & stickered.

Koni North America in Kentucky told me about a month and half ago they no longer provide in-house services or restoration of vintage shocks, but instead refer all such requests or work to Performance Shock, Inc. in Sonoma, CA which appears to be certified service facility to many other shock absorber brands. I've used them before with mixed results and currently have a set of 365 GTB/4 shocks involving some "special" requests. Curiously waiting the outcome.

Re: GTC Shocks
Good Morning Ed,
It looks like Timo is indeed correct as I was able to finally get in touch with Mason, my old contact, at Koni this morning and they have indeed decided to outsource their custom 'vintage' shock rebuilds to Performance Shock in California. Mason gave me Thomas Haugg's direct line at Performance Shock as (707) 938-5664 or you can shoot him an email at service@performanceshock.com
Good luck,
John
