wiper motor source

Post by Jumprun »

Hello all, I am looking for a source to buy a windshield wiper motor or have mine expertly rebuilt. I think my cross-reference is for the GTE.
There is a guy in Delaware on Ebay, who advertises rebuilds. Has anyone had theirs rebuilt by this shop?

I have already reworked mine once, but a recent failure that I have not been able to resolve has me frustrated.

My Car is a 1968 330 GTC, and for reference, the Lucas part number is 75561A, it is a three wire, two speed motor.

The wiper motor on a GTE had 5 wires.

It's a Lucas unit, so anyone with experience with Lucas should be able to rebuild it. That being said, I don't have a good resource right now. There are less and less people doing it.

I have good experience with Steve Hunt in the Uk. He rebuilds them and has big stock of Lucas Wiper parts. He has done two motors for me so far. You will find him on ebay. Only drawback is that the wires used were not to original spec. I googled the vendor in Milwaukee on ebay, from the pictures the offered motor looks right down to the wires, but this says nothing about the quality if the rebuild..

I have just got in touch with Steve Hunt as have been sorting through my wiper motor stash.
Seem to have mainly 6W and DR3 Lucas motors

On a 250 GTE it should be a 6W 75423 A, I believe. Is that right?
Does anyone know whether a 6W 75423 D was used on Ferraris too?
What about a 6W 75509A?

Typically do the DR3s fit on any Ferraris?

How about O.D.D. parts in California? I know they fix a lot of different kinds of switches not sure about wiper motor, but that would be my first choice. If you need more information about them let me know thanks Steve

Ed
The issue is I have is I have a lot of them and a lot of parts for them and need to decide which are worth having and which are not.
I plan to get the best ones with suitable numbers and dates for 60s Ferraris refurbished by an expert who knows what they are doing, then they can be reincarnated and used in a car, rather than sitting in a box. But the world of wiper motors is a new one to me and there is a vast array of different types.

I have not spoken to Joe in years, but a quick search and yes, he's still around, and may be worth a call. He's in Flushing NY.

Thanks for your suggestions. Given I am UK based, probably makes sense to get them done here. Steve Hunt tells me the value of a wiper motor is a mere GBP 10 each - and the cost of overhaul £180 plus VAT @20%.

I have one which is a 6W 75423 A dated 10 60 - think this is correct for a 250 and probably worth investing in.

The 6W 75423 D, of which I have 2, are dated 4 64 and 1 63 - according to one source these go on a Lamborghini Miura, but think is wrong as they didn't build Miuras until 1966. Am assuming they were probably on Ferraris.

Do not use the Ebay guy, it is East Coast Jaguar that does his work. I sent him my water pumps and he only sent one back .

Still fighting to get the other one back since May. Now I need to find a water pump for my series 1 330 GT.
