PF number help
Hi Guys,
I need some help from the telaio guys! I found a trim piece from another car with either a PF number "447" or "477." I'm going to put it on my car, but I'm just curious which GTE it came from. Any ideas?

I've been holding my breath for two years or so waiting someone would ask a numbers question!
GT/E body numbering system in a nut shell:
First numbers 39701-40000 were used between chassis numbers 1895GT-3079GT. Running out of numbers, PF used numbers 34002 and 34003 for 3081GT and 3083GT thus finishing Series 1.
They then used number 68001-68650 for Series 2-3 (3103GT-4961GT)and carried on using numbers 68651-68700 for 330 Americas and 68701 onwards for 330 GT 2+2.
And then some answers:
#447 should have appeared on 4257GT.
#477 should have appeared on 4495GT.
I think we have a bingo with 4257GT; parted out by Joe Nitti in 1987 and since 1988 known as a TR replica.
Best wishes, Kare

Hi Kare,
Thanks a bunch! Although I don't have the dedication you have to collect and collate Telaio, I love to find parts to cars that are long gone! I'm currently writing a journal entry about what I found at Jerry Curtis' shop, but there are several chassis laying around his property. If I can get the permission, I will try to collect these numbers so we can know where these serial numbers ended up!

Hang on a second Kare, I have Ferrari SN 4247 and Pininfarina # 472 (though it is possible that it is 412, as the 7 looks kind of strange). Could you have switched the two numbers you printed? If 4257 had body # 477, that would jibe with mine.
Also, does anybody know if Pininfarina gives out build sheets like Ferrari?

Yale,
Yes, unfortunately after 40 years in the family, the Lancia Appias are going. I inherited them from my Father 4 years ago. I have spent countless hours enjoying the cars but my time is so limited that I had to make a choice on what to focus on. Fortunately, a buyer from Newport Beach has just purchased them and will provide a good home for them.
My first priority was that an enthusiast aquire them and use them on a regular basis. Lancias are such quality automobiles.

Cool. Ok Kare, here's another conundrum part to identify. I have a front bumper (from Tom S) but it wasn't correct for my 330 - not rounded enough.
Looking at pictures, it may be off a PF coupe, or off a California Spyder, and has two series of numbers stamped each upside down to each other:
12 685 65 and 5 951 63
Any ideas?
Jon
