O.K., call me crazy but I'm looking to install a 5 speed transmission out of a 330 in my GTE. The question I have for now is what am I looking at with regard to clutch linkage? Am I correct in thinking that the original GTE set up was a mechanical linkage and the 5 speed is hydraulic?
Any comments pro or con are appreciated.
Thanks, Rad

The 330's 5 speed clutch linkage is hydraulic.

Hi Rad,
Since the GTE has a mechanical linkage, you'll have to figure out how to adapt the two systems together.
I would probably find going hydraulic a better setup. If you don't mind destrying the original pedal box, I wonder if there is a way to adapt the original clutch pedal to operate a master cylinder much like the brake pedal. The easiest way would be to fabricate a whole new pedal box with brake and clutch master cylinders side by side and mount them in the original position. The arms could poke out of the floor in the same slots as the original, and no one would know. The clutch resevoir could be mounted next to the brake resevoir in the engine compartment.

Hi Red
I don't know if the 330 gearbox will fit your 250 engine, but the 365 2+2 clutch are cable operated so you can use your original pedalbox. The parts
you need to convert your 330 gearboks from hydralic to cable are aviable with Fred Petroskie in Chaumount NY.
