2024 Annual Pledge Drive

Wow. 25 years I’ve been blogging. I think for Internet years, that’s a long time. When I started documenting my Ferrari journey on this website, the word “blog” didn’t even exist! Social media hadn’t been created, and Instagram wasn’t a thing, but today, talking about Vintage Ferraris with like minded people seems to be getting harder. There are so many choices to find content, and we can easily get distracted by our phones to look at short clips and Facebook posts that the content I make seems to have to be on all platforms so people can find them! I love sharing the stories, the adventures, and the work on the cars here on this website, along with videos on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Each platform is different, so the content I post is slightly different for each medium. I don’t seem to attract the numbers like the “influencers” do, but I reach just the right people I want to reach. It has always been a labor of love and with each additional video I shoot, edit, and post, the time I dedicate grows exponentially. Here’s the chance for you to show your appreciation through a donation to this website that also supports all the other endeavors across the Internet. I know some of you come to this blog exclusively, and have been coming for decades. I know some of you didn’t even know I have a blog, or website, and only found it only after seeing a couple of videos on YouTube. Some of you are only looking on Instagram posts on your phones! Whatever the platform, I hope you’re entertained by the VIntage Ferrari content I post and will consider supporting my work.

Here’s update on what’s coming up in the next few months.

The Green GTC is just about done with its prep for Cavallino. I’m waiting on rear bumpers, but the last few trim pieces just arrived over the weekend, so I plan on buttoning up the interior this week.

The Black GTE is getting the interior, fuel lines, brake lines, and wiring harness removed so the repairs and restoration of the floor pans can be done. I took most of it out last week and just have to clean up the pedal box so The Panel Shop can line it up with the chassis and rebuild the support brackets that were rotted out. The plan is to swap this car out for the return of another 330GT 2+2 that is painted and needs final reassembly before it gets sent out for new interior. A future blog posts on all of this to come!

I decided to assemble the blue 330GT 2+2’s engine back at Francois’s shop this winter. We have not worked together on a major project together since the Pandemic, and I’m really looking forward to doing it back at the shop where my Ferrari journey began 25 years ago. I’m at the point where I can assemble a V-12 engine at my shop, but it’s always nice to have someone else to double check my work, not to mention I value the time I spend with Francois.

This 275GTS was just purchased by a customer of mine, and it’s headed to my shop to fix a couple of things. Look forward to videos, and blog posts in the next month or so on this beautiful car.

I’ve been talking to this new owner of this carburetor 400GT for several months now, trying to help him get this car running properly. After many e-mails, he decided it was better to send the car to me to go over the car. It barely ran when if came off the truck, so I’m looking forward to getting this car to run right. It looks like it’s going to need a new clutch, so I’ve got some significant work ahead of me on this car.

I’m still motoring along by myself at my shop, fighting the urge to hire someone for help. All I hear are headaches from my peers who have shops with employees. My only solution is to turn work away, keep the good customers, and remember the patient ones willing to wait. Even some of my good customers end up waiting a little bit, but I work really hard to keep the work moving forward. After that full time job at the shop, I work on this blog, shoot and edit videos, and find time to travel to shows and Ferrari events. It’s a lot. The media portion of my life may seem I do for free, but I benefit in many ways. I meet a lot of like minded people and get to share my passion and wonder this hobby and business has to offer. I can also introduce new people into the world of Vintage Ferraris and help hundreds of owners (and even shops) fix these cars around the world. Your donations helps balance out the monetary deficit from all the time I spend on this website. If you ever benefited from this website or other media I create, consider contributing. It helps motivate me to continue to do more and devote my spare time to keep all this going. Thank you for contributing and for being part of this community!
