New Videos While Convalescing

I’ve been spending the last several weeks recovering from shoulder surgery, but hope to be back up to speed and back to work soon. After the first few weeks of recovery, I was able to do some work on my computer, but without actual work at the shop being done to blog about, I decided to revisit some old stories of cars I worked in the past. I started a series of videos that I hope you’ll like and here are the first two.

The SI 250GTE was purchased from Carlo Durante of Alfa of Tacoma and had sat idle for forty years in a garage in the back of a rental house Carlo owned. Carlo imported this car from Italy in the late 60s when he came to the US to start his career as a mechanic in Tacoma Washington. One weekend while driving his Ferrari, a clogged carburetor from dirty gasoline caused his engine to lean out and burn a piston. Carlo pulled the engine, but never got back to fixing his Ferrari. I heard about this parked Ferrari and got in touch with Carlo. It took nearly 4 years of persistence for me to finally get this car.

The second story was about a 1959 Ferrari Pininfarina Coupe I also found in the Pacific Northwest. Ed Long owned this car in Salem, Oregon, and I met David who was looking for a Vintage Ferrari to rally, so I did the introduction. We bought the car, fixed the car, prepped the car, and delivered the car for a memorable trip with David and his Dad.

I hope you like these videos, and I promise to get some more content up on this blog soon!
