those are the end brackets that slip into the rockers and screwed to the body - in between the front and rear brackets are 4-5 spring style clips - used on alfa, 330 GTC/GTS, 2+2 and possible others.

I would check the grounding and the voltage at all the lights sockets......these issues will cause dim lights.

also ck the top of the valves for wear.....all part of the valve train

Also recommendation for spark plug wires - what MM is recommended and where to get a spool??
