fresh air vent hose
fresh air vent hose
Hi Guys,
My car is missing the two fresh air hoses that connect just behind the battery and below the wiper motor (Right side of car). These hose go to the vents on the dash. My car is a series II and there are two holes on the firewall to accommodate these hoses. I was wondering if someone could tell me if the upper hole and hose go the center vent on the dash? Which hole/hose goes to which vent?
this may be a goofy way to ask this question, but I hope you understand what I'm asking. :)
Any pics?
Thanks as always,

Hi William,
We just did this with Michael Greenspan's 330 America. The upper hose goes through the top hole and runs across the top of the glove box to the center of the dash. The glove box should have an open top so you can see the hose when you look up inside the glove box. There's an elbow that has a flap door that is controlled by a knob located below the dash.
The bottom hose is a straight shot to the passenger side vent. It has its own flap door with a control blow the vent under the dash.
There is a third fresh air vent down in the passenger foot well. Even each of the smaller vents are individually controlled, all the fresh air can be cut off with a master control that can close off air from the 4 inch vent via a round knob under the dash on the passenger side.
The correct hose is black cloth wrapped wire reinforced hose, don't let anyone try to sell you the cardboard hose as correct. Pininfarina manufactured cars used cloth wrapped hose, Scaglietti manufactured cars used cardboard hose.

Re: fresh air vent hose
Hi guys,
that is just the information I was looking for. Now I know how the hoses run inside the car.
I do have two questions:
1.) Do the hoses just run through the bulkhead or is there a special fixture for it? With my car they were just stuck through and fixed with some black body gum glue.
2.) Where do the hoses end on the engine compartement side behind the battery? Is there some kind of fixture?
Thanks a lot!!!
Chris

Re: fresh air vent hose
Sorry, forgot mine is a series 3 (4701). I in addition wonder where the 3 elbos (see photo) should go to or if they at all belong to a series 3?
Thanks
Chris
Thanks

Hi,
found a picture on Tom’s blog from may 2001 showing air hose connectors from a 330 America. Does a 250 S3 look the same? And are the hoses directly connected to the fresh air hose in the fender? Any better puctures available? Would be of great help!
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
I am seeing a lot of bugs in this forum of late, and will see what I can do to fix it. e-mail me the picture you want to post and I'll see if I can figure out what's going on. Sorry about this!
