Well, I'm digging in to the front suspension and brakes. Who can tell me the size of the castle nut holding the hub?
Thanks,

I know the rear was 28mm because I had to buy a socket to fit it. I will have to check to make sure the front was the same, but I think it was. Will be out of town until Tuesday, but can check after that.

Yikes! I stand corrected, and by myself I might add. My Series III GTE uses a 27 mm castle nut on front and rear. Note in the photo that the rear nut is taller than the front. Don't forget that the driver's side uses a left handed thread! Remembering this will make the nut removal considerably easier....

Don't forget the specially shaped flat washer that goes behind these nuts.

Thanks Tom & Tom. 27mm makes sense. It is the only size I do not have up to 32mm. Looks like a trip to purchase one.

True. I didn't photograph them because Racerrad is taking the nuts off, not putting them on. However, he should note which direction they go to make sure he gets it right when they go back on.Don't forget the specially shaped flat washer that goes behind these nuts.
