Hello Art: Sorry for the belated reply. I didn't recognize this thread until now. To answer your inquiry,...no I do not know the gentleman in person. Apparently, this program is called "Bragging about your cars". In summary, the owner of the car (in glasses) stumbled across this 330 by luck and he is commenting how wonderful V12 Ferrari is and that he does his own tinkering. He loves the exterior, interior, details and everything about it. His only major complaint was slipping clutch, which he said was taken care of by his friend mechanic and did not cost him very much (something like few hundred bucks). Sounds like the standard car guy - the same the world over! I'm glad to hear that another 330 is alive and well. Its too bad that we don't know the serial number (well...Kerry probably does...)

Glad to be of some help, Art. Yes, there's enough car enthusiasts here too. Unfortunately, V12s are considered way too large and expensive to keep (in relation to the realities here in Japan). But as you can witness in the big smiling face of the owner, there's enough passionate owners here also. Although I do not keep track of cars for sale here, I do come across 250s, 330s and similar era Ferraris in Japanese car magazines for sale. Hope all is well. w/ smiles Jimmy

Actually, I don't know the serial number. It might be 9373 as that car was silver/black and sold to Japan in 1996. Nothing more since then. This car has A/C and I don't know if 9373 did.Art S. wrote:Hi Jimmy,

They are not practical here either. Though practicality and Ferrari have never had much in common...
I am getting by here, I had to switch my company's focus away from automotive for the moment but we will make it through (I recently got a souvenir from one of our non-automotive customers - an exhaust valve that is about 1/2 a meter long!).
How are things in Japan? I keep hearing bad things yet you were able to get the 275, so I assume things aren't too bad for you.

Art: Here's some more detailed translation. The gentleman happened to come across this car and he and his wife decided to take a look, upon which both of them liked it and decided to buy it. At first, since the condition wasn't good, it ran more like a V8. However, after tinkering, the V12 came back to life. He mentioned that sometimes you have to take the dive and buy it if you like it (of course, within reason, that is). Someone asked him one time, what is the best thing you like about this car. His answer was, everything,...exteriors, interiors, steering wheels, meters, everything, and the V12 sound of course. He is very happy with the car and he also mentioned the fact that the price was very reasonable for a V12, relative to other V12s.
As for things in Japan, it is doom and gloom here. No better that the States and probably a lot worse in the long haul. Glad to hear things are well there. One of these days, I ought to treat myself to a trip back East to meet the crazy bunch. w/ smiles Jimmy

9373 was sold to Mori Takahashi in Hokkaido in 2/1996. Perhaps you know him and can find out where it went next?

After a little more searching, I think that this car is probably 8447. The car is now in Italy, but in Japan up to 2004. The Japanese owner then was Hideo Matsumoto/Toyko.
