Hello,
I have changed the oil of the gear box of my 250 GTE and and when I opened the refill plug I found that there is no dip stick. My car has the same chamber for gear box and overdrive, so there is only one refill plug. The plug screw looks the same like the ones at the differential. Shouldn´d there be a dip stick instead? How do I know when the oil level is correct?
regards, Martin

My GTE is like yours. According to the manual, you fill it to 1cm below the fill hole

Yes, like most differentials and gearboxes, the oil level is just below the fill plug. When the oil over flows the level of the gearbox, stop filling! The collar was added on some gearboxes to add the amount of gear oil in some gearboxes.
