Hello together,
as i will start to redo the frons suspension in some weeks, I would like to know:
-are all nuts on the pivot axles castle nut, or self locking nuts? Have seen both.
-are the nuts on the steering arm a castle nut?
-are any nuts on the front suspension (sway bar, steering system) self locking nuts?
Thank You very much and best Greets

For originality, I believe all the fasteners you've mentioned, at least on the 250s, should be castellated nuts. And if we're getting super-nerdy, one leg of the split pin is bent down, and the other up over the top of the stud and wedged into a castellation on the nut.

I think the key to the answer is to look at the threads on the item and see if it is drilled for a cotter pin. If there is no hole then a nylon locknut is called for. Bob Arthur GTE 2693

Thank You guys.
Thing is, the pivot axles have been replaced a long time ago. So most have no hole.

Tom Wilson's Site 250gte.com has some exploded views of the suspension. Worth looking at.
